Professor Thaddeus Chukwuka Eze is a professor of law and the current Vice Chancellor of Renaissance University, Ugbawka, Enugu. He has authored more than 50 publications in diverse areas of law and general interest in both local and foreign peer-reviewed journals. He is also the author of the book "The Law for the Prevention and Control of Oil and Gas Pollution in Nigeria". He is an external examiner at some Nigerian universities for the LLM and PhD programmes in law. Professor Eze has also been a member of the National Universities Commission Accreditation Team for the reaccreditation of the law programmes of some Nigerian universities. He is a Merit Award winner as the Best Graduating Student of the Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, for the 2000/2001 academic session.
Thaddeus Eze's journey in academia began in 1981 at the University of Benin, after gaining admission with an aggregate score of 316/400 in the JAMB UTME of that year. He subsequently bagged a B.Sc. in Sociology, Second Class Honours, Upper Division, in 1985.
He thereafter proceeded to the Faculty of Law of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in 1997, where he finished as the best graduating student in the 2000/2001 academic session. He was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar. He followed up with an Msc in Sociology and an LLM in Law from the same university in 2003 and 2007, respectively. He thereafter proceeded to the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus, where he obtained a PhD in law. He rose to the rank of full professor at the Anambra State University (now Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University) in Igbariam, where he was, at various times, Acting Dean, Faculty of Law, Head, Department of Commercial and Property Law, as well as the Founding Head, Department of Criminology and Security Studies. Before being appointed Vice Chancellor of Renaissance University in 2020, he was a Professor of Law and Consultant, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Renaissance University. Professor Thaddeus Chukwuka Eze is married to Professor Gladys Uzoamaka Eze, and the marriage is blessed with six children. He is also a pastor of one of the Districts of the Deeper Life Bible Church.
